隙間は、ロンドン出身のグラフィックアーティスト、ウィル・スウィーニーによる「ENERGY CANNOT BE DESTROYED」を開催します。
東京を拠点に活動するウィル・スウィーニーは、ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートでイラストレーションを学んだ後、さまざまなファッションブランドやミュージシャン、コミック、アニメーションなど、多岐にわたる分野との協業を通して作品を制作してきました。スウィーニーの作品は、SFやアンダーグラウンド・コミック、サブカルチャーに影響を受けた、緻密で幻想的な視覚言語を特徴としています。
本展「ENERGY CANNOT BE DESTROYED」では、ギャラリーの無機質な空間から着想を得て、新たなカラーパレットや技法を探求した新作群を発表します。また、作品に加え、スウィーニーは会場内に自身のスタジオを再現し、会期を通して滞在制作を行います。空間には、アーティストが選曲したプレイリストが響き、グラフィックに内在するインスピレーションの奥行きを体験することができるでしょう。
会期中には、ウィル・スウィーニーと親交のあるアーティストによるドローイングパフォーマンス「Draw Jam」も開催いたします。

隙間は、山田康平による「支える軽さ」を開催します。
たっぷりとオイルを染み込ませたキャンバスに、絵画の伝統的手続き（光源の設定）を援用するような、画面左上にイエローをのせることではじまる山田の作品は、具体的なモチーフを持たない線─面の繰り返しによって構成され、平面の中に圧縮された独自の空間が生み出されていきます。色彩の拮抗は奥行き方向へのパースペクティブをもたらし、幾重にも折り重なったレイヤーは手前側への物質感をつくりだします。
本展「支える軽さ」は、絵画空間における形態と色彩、そして絵そのものの物質性が、どのように関係を結び、成立していくのかを問いかける試みとして展開されました。とりわけ「フレーム」は本展において重要な要素として扱われています。それは絵を描く紙の性質──「軽さ、薄さ、形、表面の質感、扱われ方」──を支える構造であると同時に、もはや単なる額装にはとどまらず、作品の内部に関わりながら、別の役割や意味を帯びはじめています。
こうしたフレームと山田の絵画空間が呼応しながら構成される一連の作品群は、彫刻や建築の造形的な要素を巻き込みつつ、特定の均衡へと向かう作家の手と意識の複合的な一つのかたちをあらわしているのかもしれません。

Hender Scheme will launch “Timberland & Hender Scheme”.
For their first collaboration, Hender Scheme reimagines Timberland’s iconic 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoe, introducing the Timberland® Authentic Boat Shoe, where Timberland’s heritage meets Hender Scheme’s craftsmanship.
Signature details include a medallion-adorned leather kilt and embossed eyelets that mimic metal hardware yet are entirely crafted from leather, embodying Hender Scheme’s “NEW CRAFT” philosophy.
Crafted from vegetable-tanned leather sourced by Hender Scheme from a Japanese tannery, the shoe develops a patina unique to its wearer over time.
